But...if your wanting the best performance then don't just plug and leave it in the first plugs that allow it to link. Download the tpPLC software for Windows or Mac(there is an app but not sure if these devices are supported yet) and check the link speeds. In my house the link establishes at around 300Mb/s which is easily fine for my Fibre 100 connection and far better than the 10 or so Megabit speeds that the existing poor wireless signal is currently providing.

These are my go to devices for extending WIFI in a home or providing direct cabled connection between devices without actually needing to run cable.
Key tip, never plug into a power multi-board, these only work with a direct connection into the wall socket, and the negative cable of the house wiring needs to be in phase. I researched ethernet-over-power options and this seemed to be the best value for the features offered. It works really well but two aspects are quite negative. We have limited space around the fibre modem and router and the TP-Link device is so large it obliterated the remaining three of the four available power points. Between the extender and the office is a newly renovated bathroom that was fully tiled from floor to ceiling which I think may have caused the black spot.

Installed the adapters on both ends and was amazed at how quickly it was easy to set up (pairing them was a piece of cake) and I was able to plug the receiver adapter right in the office with my computer. This particular powerline receiver has built in WIFI which is what I needed for not only my office but also for my other wireless devices that are in use on the other side of the house.

I wasn’t sure if this product was going to be suitable for what I needed which was to extend wi fi coverage to an Airbnb cottage on my property. Guests needed to be able to access wifi. There are situations where they won't work, but the vast majority of cases they work perfectly fine
Sometimes certain appliances can corrupt the connection between the Powerline adapters, but if you're clever enough, you can track down the culprit
Hang on to your receipt though, most shops should take these back if they don't work for you

I've seen some dumb reviews here lol, people blaming the product when the problem is simply their own lack of knowledge or they just have unsubstantiated expectations
One thing that does stand out is the speed rating, just ignore it
Like wifi gear, the speed rating on Powerline is raw and not the real throughput
Unfortunately, one manufacturer will start using this kind of rating (because consumers like big numbers), so all the others are forced to follow-suit

One user said they only got 350Mb/s - that's a great speed! I certainly wouldn't be complaining lol
Another guy mentioned that you should get the App (TP-Link tpPLC) so that you can check the speed of the connection and experiment with using different locations/power sockets etc, great advice!
And while they say to make sure you plug directly into the wall, there's plenty of times I've seen them work perfectly fine on a multi-socket powerboard or extension cord, the pass-through design means you won't have to with these ones anyway

We had wifi installed but had great difficulty actually using it due to the concrete walls. This product solved all of our problems, highly recommended.
